The Value of a Learning Governance Model

In order to address a geographically diverse population and attempt to leverage talent most effectively, Health Net Inc. instituted a learning governance committee to assess the best way to unite initiatives such as an LMS, performance management and organizational growth.  The end result was a centralized, strategic learning focus which did not exist previously.

Simplicity in Action at Health Net

During the talent management implementation process Health Net made a point to minimize the alteration of existing processes.  The committee decided to implement three solutions - each from a different vendor - that are integrated through a unified internal brand.  With this strategy, the maximum functionality provided by multiple technologies allowed the existing processes to retain their essence, and become more effective.

This type of approach does, however, create complications, such as the interactivity of the systems.  Health Net decided to accept this challenge in order to create a solution where the technology would not drive the process, but rather the optimal process would be enabled by technology.
